limit switches, encoders, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.)
Materials needed per system:
- (1) Personal Computer
- (1) I/Gear® 5.3 or later
- (1) WAGO® I/O-Pro 32 (759-332)
A given operation is experiencing significant efficiency lags due to
unknown reasons.
Definition of Solution
At a given operation, field sensors are added to automatically detect a
transition from one component of cycle time to another (i.e. work time,
assembly transfer time, block time, starve time). In addition to collecting
the cycle time breakdown, other attribute data specific to the process is
collected to provide insight into the reason for the cycle time.
WAGO® PFC Program Overview
Two sets of retentive memory registers (current and previous) are
created for each of the cycle times and all of the attribute data.
One set of registers contains the current value of all of the data
as it is being collected. Upon completion of the cycle, the values
in the current registers and copied to the previous registers and
then reset. Once the previous registers are copied into, the data
ready bit is toggled to instruct I/Gear® to collect the data.
This approach buffers the data for a full cycle.
I/Gear® Configuration Overview
- A WAGO DataLink input command, which executes every second, is
created to grab the data ready bit and return it to a datapoint.
- A WAGO DataLink input command, which executes when the data
ready datapoint value changes, is created to grab all of the cycle
and attribute data and return it to a datapoints.
- A database DataLink output command, which executes when the
one of the cycle data datapoints refreshes, is created to write
all of the cycle and attribute data to the database.
