Unparalleled Security for Manufacturers
IGear Pulse uniquely meets each of these security objectives for you and your customers...
- Maintain network security at each site. Pulse leverages the customer’s existing security infrastructure, utilizing a firewall-friendly, outbound only communication.
- Restrict data to authorized personnel. All communication is secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for the transmission and viewing of data.
- Secure and protect each end customer's data. Each end customer account is partitioned in its own physical database. OEMs and end customers do not share databases in the IGear Cloud.
- Provide a secure and scalable on-demand infrastructure. The data center is certified as SAS 70 Level II. The hosting center environment is built on state-of-the-art equipment, technology investments, redundancy, and operational expertise.
- Ensure personnel accessing the system are authenticated. All access to Pulse is centrally controlled, requiring password authentication. User actions are audited for traceability.
- Limit each user to specific data, views, and actions. Once authenticated, user visibility is limited to the role that is assigned when the user is created.

Pulse is hosted in a SAS 70 Type II compliant facility. Completion of the SAS 70 Type II examination indicates that processes, procedures and controls have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent auditing firm. The examination includes the controls related to security monitoring, change management, service delivery, support services, backup and environmental controls, logical and physical access. SAS 70 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for a user organization's management to obtain assurance about service organization's internal controls without conducting separate assessments. A service auditor's examination performed in accordance with SAS No. 70 (SAS 70 Audit) is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in depth audit of their control objectives and control activities, which often include controls over information technology and related processes. A Type II report not only includes the service organization's description of controls, but also includes detailed testing of the design and operating effectiveness of the service organization's controls.
