I/Gear DTU DataLinks

To communicate with a particular device or system, the I/Gear Engine uses DataLinks. A DataLink is a software component that creates a common connection to a device that is used to move information between the I/Gear Engine and the device.

In General Release

DataLinks in general release are available for download from the I/Gear website either explicitly as an independent setup or implicitly as part of the I/Gear DTU setup. All general release DataLinks have been through our strenuous BETA and Limited Release programs that requires real-world deployment in several sites.

Andon Software: provides communication with I/Gear Andon displays. These plant floor devices provide a combination of electronic and static signage. OPC Software: provides bi-directional communication with OPC (OLE for Process Control) servers like RSLinx, Kepware, Matrikon and others. It provides access to both local and remote servers.
OLEDB Software: provides bi-directional communication with a number of database systems, like Micrsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, and many more. It provides complete and secure data management capabilities through formulated queries, stored procedures, and custom SQL statements. Oracle Software: provides bidirectional communication with Oracle databases via native Oracle objects for optimum performance. It provides complete and secure data management capabilities through formulated queries, stored procedures, and custom SQL statements.
Ethernet/Serial Software: provides bidirectional communication with any open-protocol system or device via Ethernet or a serial port. Ethernet protocols include TCP, UDP, Telnet and ICMP (Ping). Pager Software: provides the ability to send alphanumeric pages using Telocator Alphanumeric Protocol (TAP) via a paging service or send numeric pages to a pager directly.
Text File Software: provides the ability to many different types of files. It can easily read and write data to both text and binary files. E-Mail Software: provides the ability to send and receive messages through standard e-mail protocols including SMTP, MAPI, POP and IMAP.
Test Software: provides the ability to generate sample data to emulate devices for the purposes of system development and testing. Providing multiple data types and functions for adjustment. Vorne XL Software: provides bi-directional communication with Vorne XL-series, data monitoring, full graphic, Ethernet-based electronic displays.
Modbus Software: provides bi-directional communication with any Modbus TCP compliant device. WAGO Software: provides bidirectional communication with WAGO 750 series Ethernet-based I/O devices.
Cognex Software: provides bidirectional communication with Cognex In-Sight series industrial vision systems. Atlas Copco Software: provides bidirectional communication with Atlas Copco PowerFocus 3000 and PowerFocus 4000 series torque controllers.

In Limited Release

DataLinks in limited release are available via I/Gear technical support or I/Gear Implementation and Solutions Group. All limited release DataLinks have been or are going through our strenuous BETA program that requires real-world deployment in multiple sites.

Allen Bradley ControlLogix Software: provides bidirectional communication with Ethernet-enabled ControlLogix series processors. Microsoft Reporting Services Software: provides the ability to automatically load and print a preconfigured Microsoft Reporting Services report.
Annunciation Software: provides the ability to send pre-recorded or text-to-speech generated voice messages via a TAPI-compliant modem, sound card, or Motorola radio system . OSI PI Software: provides bidirectional communication with PI tags. Historical and current (snapshot) reads are supported.
XML Software: provides the capability of parsing and building XML documents from multiple sources with multiple steps. RSView Software: provides bidirectional communication with the tag database of RSView HMI applications running on a local or remote machine.
Database Software: provides bi-directional communication with a number of database systems utilizing ADO.Net 2.0. Providing complete and secure data management capabilities through formulated queries, stored procedures (including output parameter support), and custom SQL statements. File Processing Software: provides functionality for transferring files to/from remote servers via Windows directory services or FTP, importing/exporting data and purging or archiving files after processing.
Web Services Software: provides bidirectional communication with a Web Service. Microsoft .net Software: provides support for execution of any public method or property in a .Net 1.1 or 2.0 assembly.
Lincoln Electric Software: provides bi-directional communication with Lincoln Electric PowerWave series welders. IBM WebSphere MQ Software: provides the ability to send and receive messages with the IBM WebSphere MQ Series software.
